Sustainability Reporting and Climate Disclosure in Singapore: The Roadmap Explained

Sustainability reporting is transforming how businesses in Singapore operate. In Episode 2 of GreenCo's Singapore Green Plan series, we explain what sustainability reporting means, why it matters and how Singapore is moving towards mandatory climate-related disclosures.

What You'll Learn in This Video

  • How companies listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) disclose environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues
  • Why combining financial and sustainability reporting gives a better picture of business resilience
  • The role of ACRA and SGX RegCo in developing Singapore's roadmap for mandatory climate reporting
  • The introduction of climate disclosures based on the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards issued by the ISSB

Latest Update on Climate Reporting Timelines

Companies in the Straits Times Index (STI) began ISSB-based climate reporting from FY2025. In August 2025, ACRA and SGX RegCo extended the timelines for most other companies: for other listed companies, mandatory climate reporting is now phased in from FY2028 or FY2030 depending on company size, and large non-listed companies will start later. All companies are still encouraged to build their climate reporting capabilities early.
